Earlier this month I had the pleasure of attending a Substack event hosted by Marlien Rentmeester, Meg Strachan, and Molly Sims (all three are incredibly impressive women who have great Substacks — I highly recommend subscribing!).
During the event we all went around and introduced ourselves and shared our experience with Substack and what our plans were. It was really interesting to hear how everyone got started and what pushed them over the line to get on to a new platform and start building content there.
I spoke a bit about how a little over a year or so ago, I started to hear about Substack from some of our top creators on ShopMy, so I created an account to see how it worked. It was helpful to get more direct experience with it to inform how we could make the ShopMy linking side more seamless for creators who were using it.
Since then, I’ve had a lot of conversations with creators about Substack and how it’s provided a substantial new revenue stream for them. I mentioned at the event that at ShopMy we’ve noticed a really strong correlation between strong affiliate performers and creators with a lot of Substack subscribers (especially paid ones!). Both groups have a lot of trust with their audience — you can imagine the people who have a strong audience shopping through their links also have a lot of people willing to pay to hear what they have to say!
There were several brands in the room too and they mentioned that Substack creators have been top volume drivers for their business — no surprise! So if you’re a strong affiliate converter, I highly recommend launching a Substack.
Also at the event I shared how every day for the past four years since we started ShopMy, I’ve looked at our most clicked on and most purchased links across the platform. In addition to providing a lot of interesting insights for the business, ideas for creators to reach out to, and ideas for brands we should work with, it’s also turned me into even more of a shopping addict. The group seemed intrigued, so here are a few of my favorite things I’ve discovered on ShopMy over the past few months!
Favorite Finds on ShopMy
Everyone is talking about Jelly Flats. Some of the most popular ones on ShopMy are these and these. I also love these jelly sandals!
I saw this candy in our analytics a few months ago and was very intrigued — you don’t usually see that at the top of any charts. Apparently the brand has been going viral on TikTok. It took a month to arrive, but it’s literally the best candy I’ve ever had. I got the Sour Mix.
This is a really popular item on ShopMy, especially when they have a sale! It’s been on my wishlist for a long time.
InnBeauty Project Extreme Cream
It’s popular for a reason! I also love their eye cream.
Clare V. has become one of my favorite brands. I bought their Discotheque hat after I saw one of my favorite creators post about it, and I’m eyeing this black corduroy “oui” one too. I also love their bag straps!
Savette Suede Symmetry Pochette Bag
This bag has appeared at the top of the click charts a few times. I’m hoping they restock the blue or pink suede one. I can’t even find it on any resale sites!
Which I splurged on and love. If you’re curious the most popular sunnies across the entire platform are the Le Specs Outta Love Sunglasses.
Everyone is posting about this dress and I’m eagerly awaiting a restock!
Chart topper and on my list of things to try.
I love this brand so much!
I’ve seen so many beautiful pieces from this brand, and they recently did a trunkshow with Moda. I love this denim hoodie.
As always, I’ve linked everything mentioned here on my ShopMy!
Just started using the Inn extreme cream and I’m obsessed!!
